Led by Kaniala Masoe — on stage since age three, recorded at eight, and winner of the Kindy Sproat Falsetto competition in 2003. A live band responds to the room and the dancers. A recorded track does the same thing every week.
2. It is a family company
Melody Canto Masoe leads the hula team and designs the choreography, scripts and costumes. Kaniala leads the music. They met in Hilo in 2003, married in 2006, and have built every company since as an ʻohana. The chant the company opens itself with, Ke Kani Malie, was written by Kaniala.
That is not a marketing frame. It is why the cast stays after the show, and why you can ask a dancer what a mele meant and get a real answer.

The revue does not present everything as generically “Hawaiian.” Each tradition is named, attributed and danced in its own regalia:
- Hawaiian Hula ʻAuana — storytelling through flowing, modern-style hula
- Tahitian ʻOri — the fast, percussive hip dance of the Society Islands
- Samoan Slap Dance — the faʻataupati male percussive tradition
